WHAT IS BAPTISM?
Baptism is the next step after salvation through faith in Jesus. Baptism is the public expression of identifying your life to Jesus and his church. Water baptism is a public declaration of faith in Christ and one's desire to identify is a follower of Christ.
Baptism unites your story with the redemptive story of Jesus through his death, burial, and resurrection. In Colossians 2:12, Paul wrote, "For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead." The outward sign of baptism represents an inward spiritual change in the person. Water baptism unites a follower of Jesus to his death and symbolizes the death of our old life, and when the believer comes out of the baptismal waters, the believer is raised to new life in Jesus.
WHO CAN BE BAPTIZED?
Everyone who has acknowledges that Jesus is Lord of their life and experienced the forgiveness of sins is encouraged to be baptized. Even Jesus himself was baptized.
At Harvest Springs, we celebrate believer's baptism, meaning that when person is able to comprehend and decide that Jesus is their savior and they desire to live their life in allegiance to Jesus, they can be baptized regardless of their age.
WHEN & HOW DOES BAPTISM OCCUR?
Baptism is a public act within the worship gathering of the church. At Harvest Springs, we encourage people to be baptized during a Sunday morning worship gathering so that the church can hear the story of God's redemption through Jesus and celebrate with those being baptized.

CHILD DEDICATION
We believe that children are a gift from God entrusted to parents, who are responsible for nurturing their children and training them in the way of Jesus. Child dedication is when parents entrust their child(ren) to God, just like Hannah entrusted Samuel to God (1 Sam 1:19-28). At Harvest Springs, we practice child dedication for infants and children as an act of trust and commitment by parents in partnership with the church to raise their children to follow Jesus.
Child dedications take place within a Sunday morning worship gathering. Parents and child(ren) stand before the congregation, committing their child(ren) to God, and the church also commits to praying and partnering with the parents to disciple the child(ren).
If you want to dedicate your child, please complete the linked form below.
